What actually happens to your data

Most tools on GetToolsFree — including the image compressor, QR code generator, all calculators, the password generator, and the to-do list — run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Files and text you enter into those tools are processed locally on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.

Two exceptions, so you know exactly what leaves your device:

• Currency Converter fetches public exchange rates from a third-party API (open.er-api.com). Your conversion amount and currency choice are not sent — only a generic request for current rates is made.
• To-Do List saves your tasks in your browser's local storage on your own device. This data is never transmitted to us and does not sync across devices.

Hosting and server logs

GetToolsFree is hosted on Cloudflare. Like virtually all websites, Cloudflare's infrastructure processes standard connection metadata (IP address, browser type, request timing) to serve pages and protect against abuse. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service that does not use cookies or track individuals across sites.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google may use cookies or similar technologies to serve relevant ads and measure their performance. You can learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and manage your ad personalization settings at adssettings.google.com.

Cookies

We don't set our own tracking cookies. Google AdSense may set cookies as described above. Visitors in the EU, UK, and Switzerland are shown a consent choice for personalized advertising before any such cookies are set.

Your choices

Because nearly everything runs in your browser, most tools require no account and store no data about you on our end. For the to-do list, clearing your browser's site data will permanently delete your saved tasks.
